Ol_G, If problems arise after a console's launch, then it would be prudent to wait and see what happens. However, I replied to someone that said it's better to wait a few years after launch to buy, which I firmly believe would cause that company to have to discontinue the console due to no first or second year sales, if we all followed his advice. Early adopters are key to any device's success.
If we all waited, they wouldn't make enough money to keep going, and then we would be left with gaming on PC/MAC and cell phones/tablets. The early adopters are what make the console live past the first year, sort of the original Kickstarter, if you will.

Actually guys, playing a game on Sunday while a NFL game is snapped to the side is pretty cool, as soon as something exciting happens, just pause the video game and go full screen with the football game.

Sony is a Japanese company, Chinese citizens have been destroying Japanese manufacturing plants and vandalizing Japanese cars in China over the Senkaku/Diaoyu island dispute during the last year or so, and it seems to be escalating. Let's say both consoles are allowed to sell in China, does the Chinese government allow the PS Camera and Kinect to be sold at all? I would think the spying paranoia would certainly be a concern for a country that is known to spy and be spied on. China's youth is infatuated with American culture these days, especially as they are going through so much social change. I have family and friends that often travel there for work, and they tell me there are whole towns that seem like you've walked into 1950's America, and they flock to Americans as if they were rock stars to learn about American culture. creatchee, if you highlight the app or game and press the menu button, it gives you the option to quit. I never have an app or game running if I'm not going back to it within an hour or two and my system runs as smooth as butter.
So, everyone should make games for whatever age you are? Kids game too, we all started there, so why shouldn't developers make games for kids too? I'd much rather my nieces and nephews play something like Kinectimals or Viva Pinata than GTA or Call of Duty.
